Laser Engraver – 2016

My DIY laser engraver and cutter were designed from scratch using Autodesk Inventor. Almost all of the structural parts were modeled and fabricated on my homemade 3D printer except for some aluminum parts which I also designed. The engraver incorporates a variety of electronics to drive the motors and the laser. I also created a custom circuit to adjust the laser intensity.

I’ve mainly used this machine to create PCBs by cutting the traces out of an adhesive vinyl sheet which can be used with a chemical etching solution.
